Market Umbrella is an independent nonprofit 501(c)(3), based in New Orleans, whose mission is to cultivate the field of public markets for public good. Market Umbrella has operated the Crescent City Farmers Markets (CCFM) since 1995.
Farm to School
Market Umbrella is the core partner for Louisiana in the National Farm to School Network. We work to bring together a community of practice by connecting farm to school practitioners - be they school food providers, school garden instructors, school nutrition authorities, farmers, educators, or anyone in any way involved with farm to school - through a listserv, newsletter and monthly calls featuring guest speakers. Check out www.farmtoschool.org for more information and to join in on the triple win of farm to school - supporting Louisiana’s youth, farmers and local economy.
We are grateful for generous support from the USDA’s Farm to School program and Cox for making this work possible.
